The Force Multiplier of Exponent Value

When we talk to farmers about solving pain points or problems, one of the biggest asks is if the solution will work on existing equipment.

While this makes it harder on us to pivot from not only building custom artificial intelligence and software, but also hardware components, the answer is still yes.

We understand that the ability to "bolt on" new technology to existing machinery is paramount. This means that it needs to work on any make and model combine.

But, this also creates new discoveries. It's opened up channels to then bring this hardware the edge AI that comes with it to crops that have never had loss monitoring on them before such as cotton, peanuts, and sugar beets. Sometimes, the problems is not always about losses as we think about them like with corn, soybeans, and wheat, but in new ways.

Cotton - we look at a percentage of loss compared from pre-harvest to once the machine has passed.

Vegetable Transplant Machines - we look at skips where the machines "missed" putting that seedling in the ground.

Peanuts - we look at both phases of harvesting from the rollover where the peanuts are dug up and rolled over to dry, and then again when they're actually harvested from the field.

We call this the Force Multiplier Effect.

When Farmwave has solved for specific problems at the farm level, we look at how it can be repurposed to potentially solve other problems in different ways. This creates an exponential value proposition with existing technology.

  • Data Network Effects: As more businesses use AI SaaS, the collective data gathered trains and improves the models for everyone, creating a positive feedback loop.
  • Operational Efficiency: AI can automate repetitive tasks, optimize processes, and make data-driven predictions, leading to significant cost savings and productivity gains across organizations.
  • New Business Models: AI SaaS opens up possibilities for entirely new revenue streams based on data insights and predictive analytics, transforming businesses into tech-driven innovators often licensing these AI products.
  • Evolving Algorithms: AI models are constantly learning and improving. AI providers push regular updates, ensuring their clients always have access to the most advanced AI capabilities and models.

It's an exciting time to be building and working with farmers and agriculture organizations. We look forward to value-driven solutions that can retrofit on any make model combine, and machinery we're not even aware of yet. 😉
